Selecting vocabulary to study
There are four ways to study vocabulary on EnglishCentral:
- By Level
- By Video
- By Topics
- By Favorites
By Level
When you sign-up for EnglishCentral, you select a level. The words you see on every page are filtered to show only the words at your level. The best way to view all the vocabulary in your level is on the Vocabulary home page under Browse â Vocabulary. By default on this page, you will see all the vocabulary at your level “In Progress”, which means any word you have been exposed to on EnglishCentral. To view all the vocabulary at your level, click “All”.
By Video
On the detail page for each video, the “Featured Words” shows words from the video that belong to your selected level. Click the “Learn Words” button to study just those words in your level.
By Topic
To study vocabulary by Topic, go to “Browse â Vocabulary” and find a Topic on the left side of the page.
Vocabulary Topics are automatically filtered by the level you chose when you registered.
By Favorites
To build a customized vocabulary list, tag words as “Favorites” by clicking on the star icon located next to each headword:

You can then study all the words you tagged by using the “Favorites” filter on the vocab list page.
