One of the most famous festivals of The Netherlands that is famous for its tulips is, of course, the Tulip Festival. This festival takes place in Keukenhof Park each year. About 7 million tulips are replanted annually. As part of this festival, the visitors follow the routes called Tulpenroute and Bloumen Route with cars, bicycles or by foot. The Tulip Festival only takes place in April and May and for that reason, tourists swarm The Netherlands each year. The Tulip Festival coincides with another famous festival called The Kings Day Festival.<\/p>\n

Another famous festival of The Netherlands, The Kings Day Festival is celebrated on 27th April. Celebrated for the first time in 1885 for Princess Wilhelmina\u2019s birthday as the Queen\u2019s Day, the name of this festival was changed by the first king of the country in 123 years, Willem-Alexander. Named Koningsdag in its original language, the festival celebrations start the night before. Because of the condition of wearing orange, which is the color of the kingdom, the streets turn orange. The streets are filled with carnivals, flea-markets, portraits of the royal family, orange paint and clothes, canoes traveling on the canals, and people dancing and celebrating for the duration of the celebrations.<\/p>\n

The graves of the royal family and other famous Dutch people are located in Oude Kerk (Old Church) and Nieuwe Kerk (New Church). While the Prinsenhof was a monastery built in 1403 in the name of St. Agatha, the Dutch Prince William of Orange lived in this monastery and was assassinated in 1585.
